GPL: Prosper Narteh revels in debut win with Kotoko

Prosper Narteh has described his first competitive win as Asante Kotoko coach as an ''amazing victory''.

The tactician stood on the touchline as the Porcupines kicked started their Ghana Premier League campaign with a win on Saturday

Prosper Narteh who was appointed in September as the Porcupines' new trainer steered affairs as his outfit came from behind to get a hard-fought 3-1 win over Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking after the game, the coach admitted they were given a tough test. He however lauded his charges for sticking to the "game plan".

“It was an amazing victory, if you look at the way the goals came, getting to the dying embers of the game where we were down and under pressure, looking at how the boys kept to the game plan, the team’s shape and how we were able to place those combination passes, I will say it was an amazing game,” he said.

Kotoko on Saturday went down in the second half courtesy a goal from Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

The youngster who was making his debut in the Premier League put up a good show against the Porcupine Warriors in the game.

He broke the deadlock in the 65th minute after a brilliant run to give the home side the lead. He went past four players to put the ball at the back of the net.

Mudasiru got the equalizer for the Porcupine Warriors and Isaac Oppong increased the scoreline for the away side two minutes later.

Richmond Lamptey scored in the closing minutes of the game with his trademark goal to give the Porcupine Warriors a deserving 3-1 win.

Kotoko will next week welcome Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports on matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League.
