Hearts of Oak 'officially' write to Great Olympics for Gladson Awako

Hearts of Oak have officially written to fellow Premier League side Great Olympics requesting the services of Gladson Awako.

Following his impressive performances for Great Olympics in the just-ended season, the 30-year-old has been heavily connected with a move to the newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions and the Phobians have made their interest known.

With Hearts set to participate in CAF Champions League in September, head coach Samuel Boadu wants to added the Black Stars midfielder to his already established squad in order to be able to make a mark in the competition.

Awako in a recent interview expressed his readiness to join Hearts of Oak.

“I am ever ready to join Hearts of Oak. I am a footballer and that is my work”, Awako told Atinka FM.

“If I feel moving to Hearts of Oak will help my career why not.

“Even Harry Kane is moving from Tottenham Hotspurs just to get the chance to play in the Champions League.”

The former TP Mazembe midfielder bagged 6 man-of-the-match accolades, scored six goals and provided seven assists for Olympics in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campign.

The former Ghana U-20 world cup winner’s contract with Great Olympics is set to end in October, and coach Accra Hearts of Oak is hoping to sign him for their African campaign next season.

Hearts will open their CAF inter-club campaign on the second weekend of September but are yet to know their opponents since CAF have not concluded the draw processes.
