Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed gratitude and determination as he begins his tenure with Ghana’s national football team, describing the role as both an honour and a mission.

In his first message to Ghanaians following his appointment, the Portuguese trainer has promised to give everything, calling the job a mission, not just a contract.

“It is with a deep sense of gratitude to the GFA, responsibility and humility that I embrace this new chapter with the National Football Team of Ghana,” Queiroz stated.

“I arrive with respect for its history and belief in its future. Together, with unity, discipline, and ambition, we will work to honour the expectations of a great football nation,” he added.

The former Real Madrid and Iran coach stressed that his new role goes beyond a typical coaching job, framing it as a mission to serve both the game and the Ghanaian people.

“This is not just another job — it is a mission. And I am ready to give everything of my experience and knowledge once again, in service of the game and the happiness of people,” he said.

Queiroz’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Ghana as the Black Stars seek to rebuild and improve performance ahead of major international competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
