Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has named Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with defender Alexander Djiku missing out due to injury.

Djiku, who has been a key figure in Ghana’s defence in recent years, was unable to recover in time to make the final squad, dealing a blow to the Black Stars ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The squad announcement follows weeks of preparation in Cardiff, where Queiroz and his technical team assessed players from a provisional 28-man squad before making their final selections.

Ghana will play against Wales in Cardiff on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, before flying out to Washington to continue preparations for the World Cup that kicks off on June 11, 2026.

The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England and Croatia in their Group L matches.
