Deams FC Technical Director Karim Zito believes blames should be apportioned to players and not only coaches if results turn out unfavourable.

Zito, who doubles as the coach of the Black Satellites expressed his disappointment in his players for failing to get a good result over the weekend.

His comments come on the back of Dreams FC defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday. Zito who was in the dugout as the head coach due to the sacking of Vladislav Viric believes players must start taking responsibilities.

According to him, on matchday days it is the players who now need to put what they have learned into use. He is of the view that, it is not always the time that coaches are to be slammed if results are unfavourable.

He stressed that the results who have been different if they have converted their chances against the Porcupines.

” We strategized and stop Kotoko from playing. We all saw what happened.

“The scores didn’t reflect on the game itself. We created a lot of chances. We have ourselves to blame. We lost concentration after we conceded that penalty and the second goal came.

“We coaches always basically teach them how to score goals. But putting the ball at the back of the net is the ability and capabilities of the player.

“This is why I said, injustice in football is by judging the coach by the result. Look at what happened. Assuming I am the striker I would have scored, but he couldn’t make it, now the blame falls on me. We should stop blaming coaches and blame players too.” Zito added

Dreams FC who lie 10th on the log with 28 points will next play Elmina Sharks at the Theatre of Dreams.
