Kumasi Asante Kotoko bus driver Nana Berchie has spoken for the first time since their tragic accident at Nkawkaw last week.

In an interview played on Kumasi base Silver FM, the bus driver narrated how the accident which claimed the life of the deputy equipment officer of the team actually happened.

“A car overtook me and because it was using the highlight it affected my vision and a truck which was seemingly in motion in front of the Kotoko bus suddenly stopped, so I ran into it,”

Several player and officials were injured, and Nana Berchie himself was rendered unconscious after the accident. Coach Steve Pollack sustained a knee injury but has undergone a successful surgery to speed up his recovery.

Kotoko will be out of action for the second week running after the PLB postponed their game with WAFA.
