Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been intimidated by CARA fans in Congo ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup game today according to reports.

Reports from Congo indicate that the Kotoko side had stepped out to hold their one-hour mandatory training session a day before the clash but the side were stopped by irate fans of the home side for no apparent reason.

The harassment left Kotoko in a state of dilemma and the team was led by security to their hotel.

Kotoko has officially lodged a complaint to CAF as there is a tensed atmosphere in Congo Brazzaville with the Congolese police investigating the occurrence.

Kotoko won 1-0 in the 1st leg

Communication director of Kotoko Oded Acheampong has explained the situation to FOX FM.

"We have been brutally assaulted, I was personally beaten up likewise the players, but the situation is currently under control and the players have been marched safely to their hotel where they are relaxing and focusing on the match tomorrow."

Kotoko hold out a slim 1-0 victory going into today's clash. The game is scheduled to be played at 2:30 pm
