Medeama and Legon Cities reach agreement on Eric Ofori Antwi transfer

Medeama have reached an agreement with fellow Premier League side Legon Cities for the transfer of goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.

Primenews can confirm the deal has been struck, and Eric Ofori Antwi will join the Royals ahead of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

"Medeama have reached an agreement with Legon Cities for the transfer of goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi, a club statement on Friday said.

Antwi, 26, spent five years in Tarkwa where he featured prominently as the club’s number one.

The club has reached an agreement with the Royals for the transfer of the experienced shot-stopper as he brings the curtain on his career in Tarkwa down.

The former Ghana Under-20 goalkeeper and Black Stars B goalie distinguished himself during his stint at the club.

He rose to become the vice-captain of the club, deputizing for Joseph Tetteh-Zutah.

The Tarkwa based club further thanked Eric Ofori Antwi for his services and wished him well.

Eric Ofori Antwi joined Medeama SC in 2017 after terminating his contract with Kumasi Asante and was been an ever-present in the Medeama team until 2020/21 season where he has shared the post with goalkeeper Frank Boateng.

He played 14 matches last season for Medeama keeping 7 clean sheets.
