Normalisation Committee members to be announced next week- Sports Minister

Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah says the members of the FIFA Normalisation Committee will be announced next week.


The team was supposed to be revealed earlier this week but that did not happen and the minister says a FIFA delegation will arrive in Ghana next week to put the team together.

"Next week Tuesday, a team from both CAF and FIFA will be arriving in the country for us to continue our delegation and dialogue.

"On Wednesday, there is going to be a full meeting with the team, comprising of one member from FIFA, the acting 1st CAF Vice President who happens to be the Nigeria FA President will also accompany the team," He said.

"The team from CAF and FIFA will be here next week for us to put up the team of Normalisation. As I said, very capable, competent and patriotic Ghanaians who would come and see football."

The Normalisation Committee are expected to do the following:


To run the GFA’s daily affairs and cooperate with the special task force once it has been set up by FIFA, CAF and the Government of Ghana;

To review the GFA statutes to ensure compliance with the requirements of FIFA and CAF, particularly art. 15 of the FIFA Statutes, and;

Once the GFA statutes meet the requirements of FIFA and CAF, to organise and conduct elections of a GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA statutes.

The specified period of time during which the normalisation committee shall perform its functions shall expire when all of the above-mentioned tasks have been properly fulfilled, but by no later than 31 March 2019.
