Desire Doue has won the 2025 Golden Boy award for best under-21 male footballer of the year in Europe.
The 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain player is the 23rd recipient of Italian newspaper Tuttosport’s title.
Doue also came fourteenth in September’s Ballon d’Or rankings and second in the Kopa Trophy, France Football’s Golden Boy equivalent, behind Barcelona’s 18-year-old Lamine Yamal. The Spain international was not eligible for this year’s Golden Boy award, having won it last year.
England’s Michelle Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion from Arsenal since summer 2024, won the Golden Girl award. Agyemang, 19, scored two vital goals as England won the 2025 European Championship and was named young player of the tournament.
The award winners were announced at a news conference on Tuesday. The official ceremony takes place on December 1.
Doue scored 16 goals and made 16 assists over 61 games last season, including two goals and an assist in PSG’s Champions League final win against Inter Milan. The European honour was part of the treble that the Paris club won, alongside the Ligue 1 title and the French Cup. Doue also played seven games, scoring once, in PSG’s Club World Cup run, before they lost in the final to Chelsea.
