Tunisia came from a goal down to beat Panama 2-1 in their last group game of Russia 2018 World Cup.


The game which had no bearing on the group standings was just for pride.

Irrespective of the results, both teams were already out of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Tunisia were always favourite for the game but it was Panama that got a surprise lead.

Jose Rodriguez shot from distance and his effort took a nick off the defender and goes past Aymen Mathlouthi in the 33rd minute to make it 1-0 to Panama.

That was their first time Panama had taken the lead in a World Cup game.

They held on until first half.

Tunisia started brightly in the second period and got their equalizer in the 51st minute.

Wahbi Khazri provided Fakhreddine Ben Youssef with a nice pass inside the box. It allowed him to finish with a strike into the middle of the goal.

The second goal was long coming, Oussama Haddadi fed the ball through to Wahbi Khazri who picked up the pass inside the box and quickly sent it into the right side of the goal.

That was 2-1 to Tunisia in the 66th minute and eventually ended so.
