Senegal has become the first team to qualify to the quarter final stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon after beating Zimbabwe 2-0 in the second Group B match played on Thursday night.

Goals from Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Henri Saivet gave Senegal six points after their previous win over Tunisia.

They top the group with six points with Tunisia following with three points while Algeria and Zimbabwe have a point each.

Senegal faces Algeria in their last group game and would only be hoping to maintain their top spot while Algeria would need the three points to determine their qualification.

Sadio Mane is gradually taking the competition on his shoulders as he scored in both matches played and could have added more to his tally.

Zimbabwe was outplayed and outclassed by Senegal and would be hoping to get some good results against Tunisia in their last game.
