Ghanaian forward Solomon Asante excelled as his side Phoenix Rising FC beat Sounders II 1-0 to move top of the United Soccer League.

Asante was once again influential for his side as Christ Cortez’s lone strike sent them summit in the western conference.

The former Berekum Chelsea forward has so far scored 13 goals in 27 appearances this season and is in contention to win the division’s most valuable player.

Only Christ Cortez’s(15) has scored more goals for Phoenix Rising than Solomon Asante despite the Ghanaian’s role as an attacking midfielder.
