There is heartbreak for Ghana in Judo as Kwadwo Anani crashed out after losing to South Korea's Gwak Don-Han in the men's 90kg division.

The 21-year-old African championship silver medalist lost by an Ippon to the Korean on 1:50 seconds of the 5 minutes fight after succumbing to two Waza-aris in less than two minutes.

The Ghana Olympic Committee posted after the fight, "Unfortunately Judoka Kwadwo Anani lost to a more experienced opponent from South Korea. He is young and will learn from this experience to bounce."

Kwadwo Anani is the first out of Ghanaian's 14 athletes to be kicked out of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Over in boxing, Samuel Takyi became the latest Ghanaian boxer to win his fight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after Sulemanu Tetteh.

Samuel Takyi on Wednesday advanced to the quarterfinals of the men's featherweight event with a unanimous decision over Caicedo Carlos from Ecuador.

His victory adds to Sulemanu Tetteh triumph over Dominican Republic’s Rodrigo Marte on Monday.

Meanwhile, another Ghanaian boxer Shakul Samed will mount the ring at 11:12am hoping to make it third out of three for the nation. Shakul Samed will be coming up against Malkan Bayram from Turkey.
