FC Barcelona beat Manchester City 4-0 in the Champions League at the Camp Nou on Wednesday with Lionel Messi scoring a hat-trick.
Having missed three games after a muscle injury put him out for three weeks, Messi looked like he was making up for lost time as he put up a sensational display.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored in the 17th, 61st and 69th minute to give Barcelona a comfortable 3-0 lead and also won a penalty late in the game  which was squandered by Neymar.
Neymar however, made amends when he curled a shot around City's replacement goalkeeper , Wily Caballero from inside the box after dribbling through the City defence to complete the rout.
City played with 10 men from the 53rd minute after goalie Claudio Bravo was sent off for handling the ball outside his own box after his clearance of a long through ball went straight at a nearby Suarez, whose shot was goal bound.
Barcelona also ended the match with 10 men after substitute Jeremy Mathieu who had come on for Gerard Pique was given a second yellow in the 74th minute for a sliding tackle on Raheem Sterling.
The win gives Barca nine points from three matches, while the loss keeps Pep Guardiola's City who are winless in their last three matches on four.
In other matches, Mesut Ozil scored hat-trick and got one assist as Arsenal trounced Ludogorets 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners opened the soring in the 12th minute when Alexis Sanchez cut in from the left and chipped goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov.
Theo Walcott made it 2-0  30 minutes later when he controlled Ozil’s pass and sent a high one into the net.
Just after the break, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seized on a loose ball inside the Ludogorets area and sent a powerful shot home to make 3-0.
It was an Ozil  show afterwards as he scored a low finish,  fininshed off an Oxlade-Chamberlain-Perez move volleyed home a shot off Stoyanov to complete his treble.
