Wolfsburg made a bold statement in the UEFA Champions League when they beat Real Madrid 2-0 at the Volkswagen Arena.

The Germans after enduring a torrid opening 15 minutes  were awarded a penalty in the 17th minute.

Casmeiro caught Andre Schurrle, who was meeting a Julian Draxler pull back cross.

Swiss international, Ricardo Rodriguez sent Madrid keeper, Keylor Navas the wrong way from the spot to send the home supporters into a wild jubilation.

Things got worse for Madrid in the 24th minute as Maximillain Arnold, capped once by Germany, sidefooted Bruno Henrique's cross under Navas after some poor defending from Marcelo to make not 2-0.
