Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey was on target as Arsenal beat Leicester City 2-0 on Sunday to cruise to a fifth consecutive win.

The Ghanaian midfielder scored one of Arsenal's goals as they claimed the maximum points at the Emirates Stadium to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

He broke the deadlock of the game in the 11th minute. Partey outjumped the visitors' defence to glance a header into the back of the net from Gabriel Martinelli's corner.

Alexandre Lacazette doubled the Gunners lead in the second half from the spot, ending a run of 10 games without a goal.

The win sees Arsenal leapfrog Manchester United to fourth on the table.

Thomas Partey is expected to be named in Ghana's squad to take on Nigeria for a Qatar 2022 World Cup slot later this month.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey has been crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Month for February for the very first time.

The Ghanaian international who finished with 49 percent of the votes beat off competition from Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.

Partey was in outstanding form throughout February, as the London-based club won all three of their Premier League matches.

Thomas Partey started the month with a typically combative performance in midfield as Arsenal won 1-0 at Wolves, and helped shore things up as Mikel Arteta's side were reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes remaining.

He then was impressive in the victory against Brentford, dominating the middle of the park as they claimed another hard-fought three points.

The 28-year-old helped Arsenal round off the month in style with an energetic, driving display in midfield as Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Wolves late on at Emirates Stadium.
