It is unclear whether Konadu has replaced Bashir Hayford as head coach or will be working with him. The statement released by the club on Sunday stated that the 48-year-old has been added to beef up the technical team.

''Management has with immediate effect taken the decision to augment the set up of the club. Maxwell Konadu has been hired to beef up until the end of the 2020/21 football season," an official statement read.

Konadu is currently with the national under 17 side, Black Starlets after being sacked by Asante Kotoko in December 2020.

Legon Cities are without a win in their last four matches and are lying on the 13 position with 39 points, 2 points above 16th-placed King Faisal.

Konadu’s immediate task will be to help the Royals finish the season strong in the MTN FA Cup whilst avoiding any late possible relegation scrap.
