Asante Kotoko landed in Nairobi on Thursday last week for a CAF Confederations Cup against local side Kariobangi Sharks and days after it is alleged the Reds have 'stolen' towels on their departure from City Lodge hotel where the team were lodging in Kenya.

However, the assistant manager of City Lodge hotel Allan Kimani has reiterated that the missing items cannot be attributed to Asante Kotoko since the hotel is opened to the public.

"As far as I and the staff know, we have nothing that is missing that we can attribute it to Asante Kotoko. This is a public environment of course where another guest could pick something, it could be a towel in the room, but we can't say its Asante Kotoko as we've had many guests as well so from our end I will say it's not true," he emphatically stated.

He further stated that some items are indeed stolen but that has nothing to do with the Kumasi-based club and they do not know where the false reportages are coming from.

Asante Kotoko drew goalless on Saturday with Kariobangi Sharks but as the visitors left Nairobi, they left with some stolen face towels from the hotel they were staying according to reports.

In fact, it is believed that the Porcupine Warriors were held hostage for some of the items to be retrieved.

The second leg of the match is scheduled for Saturday, December 22 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and the Winner will book a spot in the lucrative CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
