With less than two weeks to the crucial World Cup playoff between Black Stars of Ghana and Nigeria, the former is yet to announce her squad for the tie.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria released their 25-man squad for the tie on March 4 with the likes of Leicester City's Ademola Lookman Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen all included in the list.

However, four-time AFCON champions Ghana is yet to make public the players who will be taking to the field battle the Super Eagles on March 25.

According to  Executive Council member of Ghana Football Association, Dr Tony Aubynn, the reason behind the delay in announcing the Black Stars list is a technical decision backed by management.

“The reason why the squad has not been released is a technical decision backed by management," he told Starr FM.

“We recently formed the technical team and the management team and I’m sure they have a reason why and they have their own timelines. It is for a good reason.

“I cannot explain even though I’m in the EXCO. We have given them the responsibility to the technical team and I believe that the squad will be announced soon but I can’t tell how soon because I don’t know the timeline," he added.

Ghana are seeking to return to the Mundial for the fourth time having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia.
