Ghana, Rwanda to collaborate in digitalisation

A delegation from Rwanda has paid a working visit to the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation (MoCD) to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange on digitalisation between the two countries.

The visit, led by the Director of Digital Transformation at the Ministry of ICT and Innovation in Rwanda, Mr Kanesa Nasser, was to facilitate the sharing of insights, experiences, and best practices related to the ongoing digital transformation efforts in both nations.

The Deputy Minister for Communication and Digitalisation, Ms Ama Pomaa Boateng, who received the delegation, underscored the vital role of international cooperation in advancing the digital agendas of both countries and expressed optimism about the positive outcomes such partnerships could yield.

She said in today’s interconnected world, the collective progress of countries hinges upon collaboration that transcends borders.

Ms Boateng commended the team from Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation for their commitment to mutual growth.

“The exchange of knowledge and experiences between Rwanda and Ghana hold immense potential to catalyse transformative advancements in both countries’ digital landscapes,” she added.

Highlighting the role of technology as an enabler of sustainable development, the Minister stressed the need for synergy in digitalisation efforts, reiterating that the challenges posed by the modern age require innovative solutions that emerge from shared insights and collective wisdom.

The Minister also expressed optimism about the outcomes that could emerge from this collaborative journey.

The Deputy Director in charge of Policy, Planning, Budget, Monitoring and Evaluation at MoCD, Mr Emmanuel Ofori, made a presentation on Ghana’s digitalisation initiatives.

They include E-Government Services, Digital ID Systems, ICT Infrastructure Development, Cybersecurity and Data Protection, Innovation and Startups and Digital Literacy and Skills Development.
