The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP), has announced changes to data bundle offerings by major telecommunications operators in Ghana, effective July 1, 2025.
The Minister revealed these changes during a press conference in Accra today, highlighting successful negotiations with network operators.
"I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures," Minister George stated.
- AirtelTigo Ghana (AT Ghana):

Old Rate - GH₵400 bundle: 195 gigabytes of data.
New Rates (Effective July 1, 2025): GH₵400 bundle: 236 gigabytes of data.
All data bundles: 10% price increase applied to existing bundles.

- Telecel Ghana:
- Old Rate: GH₵400 bundle: 90 gigabytes of data.
New Rate: (Effective July 1, 2025): GH₵400 bundle: 250 gigabytes of data.
All data bundles: 10% price increase applied to existing bundles.
- Old Rate: GH₵400 bundle: 90 gigabytes of data.
- MTN Ghana:

Old Rate: GH₵350 bundle: 92.88 gigabytes of data (previously adjusted from a GH₵399 bundle).
New Rate: (Effective July 1, 2025): GH₵399 bundle: Restored to offer 214 gigabytes of data.
All data bundles: 15% price increase applied to existing bundles.

Mr. George recognized the financial implications for operators, stating, "I understand that these increases will impose significant costs on the network operators."
"However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people."
The Minister conveyed appreciation to telecom CEOs for their collaboration, indicating a strengthened partnership between the government and the industry in the communications sector.
These modifications are part of continuous initiatives aimed at improving digital accessibility and ensuring value for money in Ghana's telecommunications market.
