Akufo-Addo extends well-wishes to King Charles III amid cancer treatment

President Akufo-Addo has extended the solidarity of the country to British Monarch, His Royal Majesty, King Charles III as he undergoes treatment for cancer.

In a post on X formerly Twitter, the President on behalf of the people, government and his wife, Rebecca, the First Lady wished King Charles a speedy and complete recovery.

He added the monarch and the entire British Royal family remain in the thoughts and prayers of many during these difficult times.

“In these difficult times, our thoughts and prayers are with the British Monarch, his wife, Queen Camilla and the entire British Royal Family, and I join the global community in wishing him strength, courage, and a swift and complete recovery,” he wrote.

In a statement from Buckingham Palace on Monday, it was disclosed that King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and has commenced a schedule of regular treatments.

The statement noted that the Monarch "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.
