The government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health has banned the use of shisha in the country.

A portion of a gazette notice reads:“No person shall import, manufacture, sell, offer for sale, use, advertise promote or distribute shisha in Kenya.”

According to a Health CS Cleopa Mailu, discussions with various government departments were still ongoing.
"We are contemplating banning shisha ... we will definitely do that” the CS stated.
