14-year-old girl to be sworn in as Governor of state in Nigeria

A 14-year-old High school student is to be sworn in as governor of Nigeria’s Abia state, Monday, December 11, 2017 to run its affairs for 24 hours.

Joy Ezechikamnayo is expected to be sworn in by the sitting governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

According to Africanspotlight.com, the senior prefect of Intellectual Giants Christian Academy’s unprecedented privilege follows her emergence as top performer in an essay competition that lasted over a week.

As part of the prize, she is taking charge of the administration of the Abia state with the support of 19 other students, all of whom emerged as the top 20 performers in the competition.

Reports suggest that the governor-to-be is currently attending a leadership retreat with members of her cabinet after which the swearing in ceremony will take off.

Aside Joy Ezechikamnayo being the governor, the remainder of the top 20 performers are also holding various relevant positions that matter in the administration of the state for the next 24 hours.

Here are the positions in hierarchical order:

1st position-Governor

2nd position – Deputy Governor

3rd position – SSG

17 others are Commissioners.
