ACCIDENT: Groom crushed to death en route to wedding reception

A supposed joyful moment for a newly wedded couple last Sunday became tragic when the groom was crushed to death en route to their wedding reception.

Disu Kamaru and Janatil Firdaws Yakubu, the newly wedded couple had just blessed their marriage in accordance with Islamic regulation and were on their way to the reception when a vehicle run into the car that was conveying the couple at Madina in Accra.

The groom, Disu Kamaru was rushed to the Legon Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, while the bride is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

According to reports the first part of the marriage ceremony took place earlier Sunday morning at Adenta and guests were supposed to converge at the Africana Guest House, opposite TF Hostel at Atomic Junction where the reception was to take place.

However, the groom met his tragic death when the vehicle he was travelling in was run into by another vehicle which was trying to overtake another.
