Pregnant woman gang-raped by four men

A 30-year-old man who masterminded the gang-rape of a six-month pregnant woman has been arrested at Akyem-Maase in the Eastern Region.

On Saturday, 16, September, the suspect, Kwaku Kumasah reportedly drugged the pregnant woman with local gin 'akpeteshie' mixed with weed and hydrochloride before raping her. 

The incident happened in the absence of the woman's husband.

Despite an alleged friendship with the victim's husband, the suspect reportedly invited three other friends to gang rape the victim after she got drunk with the mixture.

The woman who was traumatised by the incident could not inform her husband on his return until a resident narrated the incident to the victim's husband.

After which, She was quickly rushed to the hospital and doctors confirmed the incident.

Residents of Akyem-Maase in the Akyem-Tafo district are upset by the news.

They said the victim did not deserve what happened to her because she is nice to everyone in the community.

Meanwhile, the Regional Police Command has taken over investigations into the matter.
