The Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Lucy Quist has resigned. Prime Business confirmed Ms. Quist resignation on Monday - October 10th, 2017.
The development follows last month's confirmation by the National Communications Authority of the Tigo and Airtel Ghana merger deal.

In a statement issued by the NCA and made available to the media, the merger on its approval is was expected to produce from the former two separate entities the second largest mobile telecommunications operator in the Ghana and consequently, have some implications on its new leadership but there was no mention of which of the chief executives(Airtel or Tigo) would head the merged company.

However while some believe Ms Quist's resignation is based on the need to strike a deal on the new leadership, there is no specific details either from the company or herself as to the reason for her resignation, nor where might be her next point of duty.

In a brief statement issued to the media via her Facebook page @lucyquistofficial, and her website www.lucyquist.com, the former Airtel Ghana boss stated that: “after almost three and a half year of leading the amazing team at Airtel Ghana, the time is right for me to move on to the next chapter. It has been a truly remarkable journey and I thank each and everyone of you for your support, encouragement and business partnership over the course of my stewardship.

She added that her team is proud of its achievements. "Particularly, I want to thank all those who have been part of the many initiatives I have led over the last few years to empower young people and every young person who works with me for that matter. Notably the Evolve with STEM and the Bold New Normal initiatives".

She expressed her desire to continually empower more young people even as she continues her professional journey.
"Together we will create the Bold New Normal of prosperity for our country and continent”, she said.
