The Bank of Ghana has flagged 20 mobile loan applications operating without the required licences or authorisation to provide digital credit services in the country, warning the public against using them.

The central bank said the operations of the identified apps violated customer data privacy, consumer protection requirements and other regulatory standards.

The affected loan applications are:

  1. Cashcredit
  2. Cash Future
  3. Cash Cedi
  4. Cashpal
  5. Cashpal Pro
  6. CreditGo
  7. Funds Credit
  8. Glow Credit
  9. Moni Wave
  10. Momilend
  11. Nova Cedi
  12. Onua Loan
  13. Quick Cedi
  14. Sika Boost
  15. Sika Credit
  16. Sompa Loan
  17. Sune Credit
  18. Swift Lend
  19. Target Credit
  20. Zoom Advance

The Bank of Ghana said it was working with relevant state institutions to identify and investigate the operators and take appropriate enforcement action.

It urged members of the public not to engage with the identified loan providers and to report any unlicensed digital credit operations to the central bank.

Banks, specialised deposit-taking institutions and payment service providers were also cautioned against facilitating or processing transactions on behalf of unlicensed loan providers.

The latest action forms part of efforts by the central bank to regulate Ghana’s growing digital credit market and protect consumers from unauthorised operators.

The Bank of Ghana’s Digital Credit Service Providers directive, issued in September 2025, requires entities offering digital credit services in Ghana to obtain the necessary licence or authorisation.

The central bank said operating without the required approval constitutes a breach of the directive.
