Deputy Minister of Information and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has explained that the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda by Government falls under four main pillars.

According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the four pillars are revenue pillar, expenditure pillar, finance pillar and the alternative usage pillar.

President Akufo-Addo since the assumption of office has on many occasions been advocating for a paradigm shift from Ghana relying on donor countries to Ghana Beyond Aid.

President Akufo-Addo said Ghana Beyond Aid will be the surest way to develop Ghana and Africa as a continent.

But after President Akufo-Addo reiterated the need to move Ghana Beyond Aid at the 61st anniversary celebration of the country on 6th March 2018, most Ghanaians seem not to really understand the call by the President as some political figures like PNC chairman Bernard Mornah believes there are no policies to show for the new agenda but rather a mere talk by the Government.

Responding to concerns from the public, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said under each pillar, programmes are already in place to build a self-sustaining economy.

Explaining further he said the statement of President Akufo-Addo has already highlighted the needed steps to be taken to achieve Ghana Beyond Aid.

On the revenue pillar, Kojo Nkrumah said it simply focuses on revenue generation and how to enforce tax compliance, the expenditure pillar deals with how funds are used to create jobs for the youth and the finance pillar is finding funds for national projects without depending on the national purse.

He added that the first part is to get people excited about the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda which is an attempt to change mindsets and the second will be to inform the various constituents like the Education Ministry, Energy Ministry among others on the role to help achieve Ghana Beyond Aid.
