Ghana’s inflation rate has continued its downward trajectory in October 2025, slowing to 8% from 9.4% in September.

This is the tenth consecutive decline this year and the lowest since June 2021.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra today, Government Statistician Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu noted that food prices were driving the overall decline in inflation

"Ghana's disinflation process is firmly underway. Price stability is returning, and key drivers that once fuelled double-digit inflation are now losing momentum," Iddrisu said.

Food inflation fell sharply to 9.5% in October from 11.0% in September, while non-food inflation also declined to 6.9% from 8.2% over the same period.

Inflation for locally produced items saw a significant drop to 8.0%, compared to 10.1% in September, suggesting improved price stability in domestic goods.

However, imported inflation edged up slightly to 7.8% from 7.0%, likely due to global logistics and exchange rate adjustments.

At the regional level, the Bono East recorded the lowest inflation rate of 1.1%, while the North East Region posted the highest rate of 17.3%, though still down from 20.1% in September.
