Ghana has signed its seventh bilateral debt restructuring agreement, this time with the Czech Republic.

The agreement was formalised on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, by Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and Mr. René Jakl, Director of the Claims and Recoveries Department at the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP), representing the Czech Republic.

Dr. Forson expressed Ghana’s gratitude to the Czech government and people, highlighting that the long-standing relationship between the two countries continues to strengthen.

Mr. Jakl described the agreement as the start of a new chapter in bilateral cooperation, paving the way for future collaborations and additional support.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Czech Republic’s Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Pavel Bílek, along with officials from Ghana’s Ministry of Finance.
