President John Dramani Mahama has officially opened the Ghana AgroTech Fair 2026 at the Black Star Square, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transforming agriculture through innovation, technology, and local capacity development.
The three-day fair, organised by Ghana Export-Import Bank, brings together key stakeholders across agribusiness, technology, and research to drive a new era of productivity and investment in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Following the opening ceremony, the President toured exhibitions, engaging with cutting-edge technologies and homegrown innovations aimed at modernising the agricultural value chain and positioning agriculture as a driver of economic growth and national prosperity.

Addressing participants, President Mahama underscored the critical role of agriculture as a pillar of economic transformation, stressing the need for Ghana to prioritise locally developed solutions to enhance productivity and reduce reliance on imported systems.
As part of this agenda, the President announced that he will, on Friday, break ground for the first phase of the Farmer Service Centre initiative at Afram Plains a flagship programme that will see the establishment of 50 centres nationwide to provide mechanisation support, training, and extension services to farmers.

The Ghana AgroTech Fair 2026, under the theme “Transforming Agribusiness through Local Innovation and Technology,” sets the tone for a future where ideas are translated into enterprise, innovation into investment, and agriculture into a sustainable engine of national development.
