One of the country’s media houses, Metro TV was on Tuesday 12th December, 2017 shutdown by the Ghana Revenue Authority.

According to the information made available to the media, Metro TV had defaulted in tax payment and was accordingly notified by the GRA of a possible shutdown.

At the moment, there have been no official statement by the TV station’s management but there are hints that measures are ongoing behind the scenes to have the status reversed.
