The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has donated GH¢1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as MahamaCares.
The donation forms part of the Authority’s corporate social responsibility efforts and is aimed at supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of providing financial assistance to individuals living with chronic non-communicable diseases.
Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, announced this during a brief ceremony on Tuesday, March 31.

“We have decided to also support. The Board has given approval for an amount of GHC1 million,” he said.
He appealed to the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as MahamaCare, to expand its interventions in the northern part of the country as it rolls out projects.
He raised concerns about the potential challenges patients in need of dialysis in northern Ghana could face.
Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, welcomed the gesture, noting that the support will significantly enhance the Fund’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.
