Gospel musician icon Danny Nettey has been laid to rest at the Osu Cemetery with his funeral service held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

With his casket sprayed with a piano wine hue settled under a white tent, singer Minister Denzel led the worship service engrossing the mourning participants in dedicated singing.

Danny’s mother Mrs. Beatrice Nettey, was visibly grieved having lost her husband and now son.

"I keep looking at the door, hoping that at any given moment you would walk right in and ask me, “What’s for dinner, Mom?” You would then put your arms around me and ask: “What’s up, Mom?” with that big smile on your face," Mrs. Nettey wrote in a tribute to her son.

Tstasu Tsikata whom Danny’s songs uplifted while in prison was in session with wife Esther and sung as well as waved hands.

The décor made up of white tent and all-white gospel choir gave the feeling of celebration of life instead of a somber one.

Gospel music star Bernice Ofei sang her popular 'Life is so short' with its poignant statement ‘remember you creator while you have breath.’

Danny Nettey, 47, passed away in July.
