Late dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng also known as Ebony Reigns, has made history as she retains her title as the artiste of the year by winning the Ghana Music Awards UK 2018 Artiste of the Year. 

The deceased was crowned as the 'Artiste of the Year’ at the awards ceremony which was held at Gaumont Palace – Dominion Centre in London on October 6, 2018.

The dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns earlier this year made history as the first Ghanaian female artist to ever win 'Artiste Of The Year' at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Late Ebony beat off competition from Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and 2017 Artiste of the Year winner, Joe Mettle to be adjudged the best artiste in Ghana.

Ebony Reigns also retains her title as she becomes the first female artiste to win this award after beating her contenders; Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, KiDi, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, and Patience Nyarko in the UK.

The award was received on behalf of the late artiste by her friend, Afia Schwarzenegger.

The Ghana Music Award UK 2018 seeks to recognize the achievements of Ghanaian musicians in Ghana and the UK.

This year’s event was sponsored by Bie Gya Bitters with Accra City Hotel as partners.
