Veteran Ghanaian Actor, Abeiku Nyame, popularly known as Jagger Pee has confessed to obtaining a visa to visit the United Kingdom on fake documentation but says it was a miracle of God.

Jagger Pee says previous attempts to obtain a visa with the help of his father who lived and worked in the UK had failed, leaving him frustrated. This was after he had spent nearly three years in jail for abetment of crime.

The Actor was found guilty of abetting the murder of a taxi driver in 1996 at CFC estates Dome, Accra in 1996. His friend, Nana Agyeman, popularly known as Geeman, a rising music star shot the taxi driver through the nostrils, following an altercation over the fare of 2000 cedis, (20p in today's money). Geeman was sentenced to death in 1998 but got a presidential pardon out of jail after 15 years

Speaking in an interview on an Accra based radio station, Jagger said he never thought he could get out of prison, and when he did, life as an ex-convict was extremely tough.

According to him one option he wanted to explore to get his life on track again was to travel outside the country in 2001, but this was hampered by the inability to get the visa to travel to the UK, the country of choice.

"My father who had worked in the UK for several years tried to convince them but all was not successful even though I had all the genuine documents"

He said eventually, he decided to commit an illegality by submitting fake documents, "from the bank statement, invitation letter and any other document was fake, except the passport"

Jagger Pee said the gamble paid off, he received the visa and went ahead to live in the UK for a period of five years. He maintains although he technically committed a crime with the false documentation, it was one God endorsed.

The actor was recently helped by philanthropists to pay for an emergency heart surgery after an appeal for funds.
