Tennis star, Serena Williams, 35, has expressed her misgivings about recent killings of black by police officers in the United States.

In a Facebook, she wrote that she had asked her 18-year-old nephew to drive her somewhere so she could work during the journey. But when she saw a police car she "remembered that horrible video of the woman in the car when a cop shot her boyfriend" and"All of this went through my mind in a matter of seconds," she added.

But when she saw a police officer, she "remembered that horrible video of the woman in the car when a cop shot her boyfriend" and it dawned on her that she had not spoken about the incidents.

Quoting Dr Martin Luther King's  statement that "there comes a time when silence is betrayal", Serena condemned the brutalities adding that, "I won't be silent".
