Highlife Legend, Kojo Antwi, paid tribute to the late Dancehall artiste Ebony reigns, with an outstanding performance this week at the MTN music festival.

Kojo Antwi, who is popularly known as 'the music man' performed one of Ebony Reigns' hit songs 'Hustle' during his performance at the recent MTN music festival in honour of the songstress who died in a gory accident, February.

He paid his last respect to other Musicians and entertainers who had lost their lives recently such as Paapa Yankson, Super OD, Awurama Badu, and Hugh Masekela while emphasizing on the shocking death of the youngest songstress Ebony.

Ebony Reigns, and two others, Francisca Nkansah and Lance Corporal Francis Atsu Vondee died in a gory accident on February 8 at Nyame Bekyere near Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region.

She was reportedly returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother who had returned to Ghana from Abroad when she was involved in the ghastly car accident Friday dawn.

She was rushed to the Bechem Government Hospital but passed on.

Born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, Ebony was popular for her hit songs Poison, Kupe, Maame Hw3, Sponsor, among others.

She was the youngest of three children born to father Nana Opoku Kwarteng and mother Beatrice Oppong Marthin. She attended the Seven Great Princess Academy in Dansoman and later the Methodist Girls High School at Mamfe, where her friends called her “Corruption”.

She did not graduate from high school, choosing instead to leave early to pursue her love of music. Her talent was soon discovered by music entrepreneur Bullet, of Ruff n Smooth, who signed Ebony Reigns to his Ruff Town label.

Her first single “Dancefloor”, became a hit and earned her the first of several award nominations i.e in the “unsung” category at the Ghana Music Awards 2016.  That same year, she released “Kupe”, which was to be her biggest hit.

“Kupe” won her the Best Female Video and New Discovery awards at the 4syte Music Video Awards. Her winning streak continued as she picked up Artiste of the Year at 2017’s Bass Awards and Favourite Female Musician at the People’s Celebrity Awards 2017.
