'Maame Dokono' suffers heart attack while smoking on set

The veteran actress, Grace Omaboe suffered a minor heart attack on set while on a movie. 'Maame Dokono', as she is popularly called, was playing the role of an elderly lady gangster in a yet-to-be-released movie from the stables of Kofas Media titled 'John and John'.

As part of her role, she was to smoke a cigarette but suffered the attack after some time. According to the CEO of Kofas Media, Kofi Asamoah 'Maame Dokono' had recovered and was doing well.

"It was just a minor attack but she recovered and completed the scene and is currently doing well home", he said on Adom TV News on Friday evening.

Maame Dokono has been acting on Ghanaian movie screens since the days of Obra on GTV in the 1980s.

The 'John and John' movie which has an estimated budget of around $150,000 has a star-studded cast including Pete Edochie from Nigeria, Liwin, Kalybos, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Joselyn Dumas, KSM, Ahuofe Patri, Bishop Bernard Nyarko, Selly Galley, Salma Mumin, John Dumelo, Abeiku Santana, Gracey Nortey, Grace Omaboe, Moesha Bodoung, Fella Makafui, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner and Umar Krupp.
