www.primenewsghana.com understands highlife musician Daasebre Gyamenah has passed on to glory. Gyamenah whose other name is reportedly Abubakar Siddiq is said to have been birthed by a woman who held the Islamic faith although he was named Kojo Gyamenah later adding 'Daasebre' to denote his royalty.

Gyamenah is said to have been unwell for a while finally passing Friday morning.

He is said to have long lost both parents and the uncle who stood in their stead has reportedly confirmed his death to the media adding his body is at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Gyamenah earned critical acclaim with his 'Kokoko' song featuring Lord Kenya produced by Mark Okraku-Mantey. He then went on to offer more popular tunes but a drug importation charge and subsequent detention in the United Kingdom took his shine away and attempts to regain his glory were unsuccessful.

He was fondly called 'Ahoofe' by loved ones in his home base of Koforidua in the Eastern region and beyond.
