Indeed Zichat Jonathan Kapio better known to music lovers simply as Kapio has not as yet scaled the music mountain but there is every indication that sooner rather later he shall claim a slice of the music pie.

For one who says he is music, a clear indication is given where the young man’s heart and mind is. For as Kapio puts it, this musical journey started a while back in Senior Secondary School but became serious when he turned professional 4 years ago while in Ghana to further his education.

“Am still pushing the Kapio brand so the recognition and the rewards can reflect in tangible ways but I am delighted with the positive vibes from both Ghana and Nigeria” he pointed out.

According to Kapio, he must single out pals Emmyli and Skinny Brizzy for dragging him to a studio to record his first tune explaining although he was good at writing lyrics for others to perform he lacked the courage to perform his own tunes till those two believed in his abilities, swayed him and since then gained the courage and the experience to hold his own musically.

A man of many parts, Kapio is pursuing further education at Sikkim Manipal University Ghana (SMU) undertaking the Business Administration course while doubling as a business man who trades in fashionable clothes and accessories.

The kaduna state born entertainer noted Ghana and Nigeria’s music landscape differs indicating that in Nigeria when an artiste secures a manager he caters for the feeding, accommodation and secures gigs for his artiste but his experience with Nana Fokzy of Out & About Entertainment has rather required he digs deep into his pockets to finance projects.

“Truly I need an executive producer with the financial muscle to cater for all other aspects of the business so I can concentrate on the core duty of generating popular tunes. In that regard I have parted ways with Out & About Entertainment” the onetime footballer stated.

The emerging entertainer mentioned MI and Ice Prince as pioneers who have paved the way for new entrants like himself to make music lovers proud.

According to Kapio he is putting in work to outdoor his first album in 2017 but videos of his ‘Fastlane’ tune ft Episode, ‘Hitting On Me’ and ‘Fiesta’ (Freestyle) are out for fans to groove with.

What stands out is Kapio’s videos. For one not yet acclaimed in Ghana nor Nigeria, Kapio’s videos are of such quality that watching his videos cannot be a bore. After all he secured the services of crack directors Prince Dovlo and Xbills Ebenezer for his visuals.

Already Kapio has managed to share the stage with the likes of Efya, J Ghartey, Okyeame Kwame and Flowking Stone sounding the alarm that things can only get better.

Kapio admires the work of Burna Boy, Mi Abaga, Wutang Clan and Kendrick Lamar. In Ghana it is Sarkodie and Dee Money for their brand, Efya for her vocals, Stonebwoy for his quality and Manifest for his deep lyrics and selling the Ghana brand.

On what his Ghanaian experience has been, the man whose got a keen sense of style opined: “The air in Ghana smells peaceful” adding he enjoys local dishes ‘waakye’, ‘okra soup and banku’ and absolutely loves the ‘Orijin’ beverage.
