Although Uganda’s Red Pepper reported that Patoranking, was detained on August 2 at the Entebbe International Airport for failing to adhere to known procedure to get an entry visa, the artiste’s publicist Omotayo Levi stated the reports were false adding "It's a lie, It is not true."

"He failed to adhere to check-in rules and above all he had not secured his entry visa. He was just told to remove his cap for security check-up but he chose not to listen to instructions. He was denied entry and arrested for disobeying lawful check in orders" a source reportedly told the Pepper team.

The Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter was in Uganda to promote his first album ‘God over everything’. The 16-track Reggae album sees the dancehall act feature artistes including Wizkid, Olamide and Phyno.

Pato reportedly arrived at the airport around 4:00pm but was detained for over 7 hours before being granted an entry visa.
