Popular Ghanaian film producer Socrate Sarfo has been left out of the ministerial list of President Akufo-Addo.

Socrate Sarfo who was among the favourite candidates for the position of Deputy Minister for Tourism has not been appointed to the dismay of many people in the creative arts industry.

He openly declared his support for the New Patriotic Party [NPP] in the 2012 and 2016 elections and the position of the deputy minister was seen by many as a rewarding portfolio for him.

But in a list of 50 deputy ministers released on Wednesday by President Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr Ziblim Barri Iddi was nominated as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts.

The race for who becomes the deputy for Catherine Abelema Afeku became a matter of public debate with the likes of Socrate Sarfo, Kojo Antwi, Mark Okraku Mantey, Juliet Asante and others mentioned as possible names being considered for the position but it looks the President decided to not choose a direct showbiz person.
