Jamaican dancehall star Adidja Palmer better known as Vybz Kartel has been discharged from the University Hospital of the West Indies, where he had been hospitalised since Sunday, March 3rd. 

The incarcerated dancehall entertainer was reportedly discharged from hospital on Tuesday afternoon after developing a thyroid-related illness.

Valerie Neita Robertson, Vybz Kartel’s lawyer, confirmed that her client was feeling better.

“He is doing much better now, he has been discharged from the hospital, and we hope that he can maintain good health,” said Valerie Neita Robertson, Kartel’s lawyer told Loop Jamaica reporter Claude Mills.

He was reportedly taken back to the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre in Spanish Town where he is serving life imprisonment for the murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams.

The self-proclaimed ‘World Boss’ was found guilty of killing his associate at his house in Havendale, Kingston, in 2011. Police claim Kartel's pal was was killed for stealing two guns.

He will be eligible for parole after serving 35 years.
