A 14-year-old girl, Faustina Korankye has allegedly beaten her 13-year-old rival to death at Asamang in the Afigya Sekyere East district of the Ashanti region.
A family source of the deceased, Maa Abena says the two teenagers have been at each other’s throat for some time now over a man the two are dating.
"I don’t know what is wrong with the two young girls. They have been fighting since last year, even last month the deceased was stabbed in a similar fight which nearly killed her", the family disclosed.
The source added that the fight that led to the death of the deceased started Thursday after the accused person spotted her rival with the young man they have been fighting over for a year.
“In the fight that killed the deceased, the accused person punched where she stabbed last month while they fought. We rushed the deceased to Asamang government hospital for treatment but she died on arrival," he narrated.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at Asamang Government Hospital Mortuary while the accused person, Faustina Korankye is in police custody to assist with investigations.
