3 more suspects arrested in GHC7.5 million Adabraka jewellery shop robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the daylight robbery at a gold dealership in Adabraka, Accra, which involved the theft of cash and valuables estimated at GH¢7.5 million.

The latest arrests followed months of sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.

The suspects have been identified as Nashiru Abubakar, also known as “Soldier”; Fatao Mohammed, popularly called “Motorway”; and a third suspect known as “50 Cent.

These arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with the robbery to seven, following the earlier capture of four other key suspects in separate operations.

On November 2, 2024, a high-profile daylight robbery occurred at a jewelry shop in Adabraka, Accra.

A gang of heavily armed and masked men attacked a vehicle transporting cash from a gold transaction, stealing an estimated GH₵7.5 million.

About four to five masked men used a silver vehicle to intercept a red Toyota Corolla near the Adabraka Market.

The robbers fired multiple shots into the air to disperse crowds and scattered some cash to create a diversion during their escape.

The driver of the targeted vehicle sustained injuries during the attack.
