The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the temporary closure of the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

This closure will occur from Monday, August 4, to Wednesday, August 13, 2025. It aims to support hygiene and safety standards at this leading medical facility.

During the 10-day closure, all trauma and surgical emergencies will be diverted to Simango Ward, which has been equipped to handle urgent cases.

The GAF’s Department of Public Relations assured “continuity of care” with minimal disruption, citing preemptive measures to maintain service quality.

Operated by the military but serving civilians and personnel alike, the hospital is renowned for clinical efficiency and emergency response. The maintenance underscores its commitment to “a clean and secure environment” amid its critical role in Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure.
