Joseph Ade Coker, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and sports, was laid to rest on Friday, August 1, 2025.
The burial followed a solemn funeral ceremony attended by members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), relatives, and friends who gathered to honour his memory.
Ade Coker passed away on Saturday, May 31, after a brief illness. He died at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra.
He was widely recognized for his forthright opinions on national and political matters and held in high esteem by the grassroots of the NDC.
First elected as the NDC's Greater Accra Regional Chairman in 2009, he went on to serve three consecutive terms, earning a reputation as a dedicated and influential party leader.
In 2022, he lost his bid for re-election to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, who now holds the position.
Beyond politics, Ade Coker made notable contributions to Ghanaian football, having served as Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association and chairman of Accra Great Olympics.
His death represents a significant loss to both the political and sporting communities in Ghana.
